The best and easiest way to order is through our online ordering system powered by ChowNow. Ordering online helps keep our phone lines open for dine-in guests and makes it faster and smoother for you to pay and pick up your food.

💡 Before checking out, please double-check your pickup time! We’ve had a few orders come in as “ASAP” when customers meant to choose a later time — which means food gets made early and sometimes goes to waste. As a small family business, rising food costs make that especially tough for us, so we truly appreciate your help in avoiding it.

Our online menu is always the most up-to-date version. Over time, we’ve adjusted it to highlight our most popular dishes and seasonal favorites, so you may notice some older items have rotated off — that’s intentional as we continue to evolve and serve what our guests love most.

✅ Tip: If you select ASAP before checkout, your order ticket prints immediately and our kitchen gets started right away. Peak takeout hours: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM

If you’d like to pick up during that window, we recommend placing your order a little earlier in the day to make sure your food is ready right when you need it.

💬 Takeout Q&A

**Q: ChowNow asks me to create an account — do I have to? **

A: Not at all, but it’s helpful! ChowNow became the go-to system for contactless and convenient ordering during the pandemic. Having an account makes it easy to save your info, track orders, and quickly reorder your favorites. Plus, your ChowNow account works at hundreds of restaurants across the DC area and nationwide — not just us!

Q: I’d rather not make an account — can I still order?

A:** Absolutely! You can check out as a guest using Apple Pay or Google Pay on your phone, tablet, or computer. Your info stays private and is only used to send you your order confirmation and itemized receipt. If you find yourself ordering takeout often though, having an account just makes things faster and easier for future orders.

**Q: Do you offer delivery?

A: **Yes! As of July 6, 2021, we proudly started offering delivery within 5 miles of the restaurant through ChowNow. Delivery fee: $6.75 Drivers are independent couriers (not Nam-Viet staff). We kindly ask that you tip your driver — especially during busy hours, rainy days, or Clarendon traffic jams. A small gesture goes a long way, and tipped orders tend to get picked up a bit quicker too!

**Q: Why don’t you take phone orders anymore? **

A: Before the pandemic, we did — but unfortunately, we ran into recurring problems with fraudulent credit cards, unclaimed takeout orders, and hesitation from customers to read payment info over the phone. After reopening in May 2020, takeout quickly became over 60% of our business. With rising food and operating costs, we can’t risk those losses again. For everyone’s peace of mind and order accuracy, all takeout orders must now be placed online or in person. Third Party Delivery Companies

A few customers have said they were hesistant to use our online ordering system because of fees and commissions associated with other third party companies, such as Door Dash, Uber Eats, and Grub Hub taken from the restaurant.

First, we thank you for your thoughtfulness, especially during these uncertain times for our beloved restaurant industry.

Second, please be assured that we would not have partnered with any company without doing any diligent research and of all the companies that offered an online ordering service, to date Chownow has been the best partner for our small family owned restaurant.

We hope this answers any queries that you have and we hope that you use our online ordering as it’s quick, efficient, and helps out the restaurant by alleviating our phone lines.

Nam-Viet Restaurant does not partner with or participate in third party delivery companies such as Door Dash, GrubHub, Ubereats, Postmates, or otherwise. Our online ordering service has an agreement with them and this agreeement is solely between them and NOT US.

While you may see our restaurant listed on these platforms, we have been diligently working to be removed and stop orders to and from these platforms that do not come via our online ordering platform.

Any orders placed via these companies/services should be heeded with caution as we cannot guarantee our normal quality of food and service. Our commitment is and always will be to our customers and at this time we only permit take-out and online orders via Chownow. Please note that we do not process takeout orders via direct phone calls to the restaurant.

As of July 6, 2021, for the first time ever, Nam-Viet is offering delivery within 5 miles of the restaurant. You can select delivery through the Chownow ordering portal. There is a $6.75 delivery fee, and our strongest recommendation is to please give gratuity for your courier who brings your deliery order. Please keep in mind that they are a third party that is not affiliated with the restaurant. Please be mindful that these drivers are there for your convenience and during instances of peak takeout times, inclement weather, and congestion in the Clarendon area, it is nice to show them that they are appreciated; Particularly during times of inclement weather or high peak hours.
